Sibylline Press Signs Jann Eyrich to Pen New Eco-Mystery Series

Stories Feature Crimes Against the Environment and a Reluctant Curmudgeon of an Inspector

(Grass Valley, CA) – Sibylline Press is honored to announce the upcoming release of THE ROTTING WHALE by Jann Eyrich, the first in a planned series of eco-mystery novels featuring noir hero Hugo Sandoval.

While working as the rare, independent woman contractor in San Francisco, author Jann Eyrich resided in the legendary shacks of Telegraph Hill where she was gifted anchorage to the City. When she heard about the stranding of a blue whale on the Mendocino Coast in 2009, the adventures of  Hugo Sandoval began to whisper through her mind.

Fourteen years later, Eyrich’s debut story featuring Sandoval is slated for release from Sibylline Press on September 26, 2023. This tale features the intrepid building inspector’s travails as he seeks to understand how a massive blue whale washed ashore along the Mendocino coastline…twice.

The second novel in the series, The Blind Key, is also under contract with Sibylline Press and is slated for release on March 5, 2024.
