Retracing the Orphan Train: Live Stream from Oberlin, Ohio Looking for Homer’s Home
Join Author Julia Park Tracey as she Live Streams on Instagram from Oberlin, Ohio on Wednesday, October 18, 1 pm. Julia visits Oberlin to find her great, great grandfather Homer’s adoptive home. This stream captures the sorrow of a mother, Martha, the main character in The Bereaved as she searches for her lost child, taken from her on the Orphan Train and put up for adoption against her wishes. Later, Homer, thence called William, grew up in Oberlin and met his bride there; they later moved to Mansfield, Ohio, where he had two daughters, and then to Pomona to “retire to California.”
