Join Anesa Miller, Donna Marie Hayes, and Lora Chilton for a Panel on Environment, Locale, Identity at AWP Baltimore
Join Anesa Miller, Donna Marie Hayes, and Lora Chilton on Saturday March 7, from 9:00 – 10:15 AM (EST) at the Baltimore Convention Center (Room 315, Level 300) for Environment, Locale, Identity: Setting in Contemporary American Literature, a dynamic Fiction Craft & Criticism panel exploring how place shapes story.
Literature with a sense of place stands against the homogenization of American culture and allows writers to address concrete issues of environment and identity. This panel brings together writers from various regions and backgrounds to reflect on the importance of setting and how historical, geographic, cultural, ethnic, and other factors create a vital context for contemporary writing.
