About Alicia Feltman
While Alicia’s design experience is extensive, encompassing a variety of organizations served and thousands of projects performed, her heart is in the book business.
Alicia has delivered the graphic design for the nine-store indie chain Copperfield’s Books for more than 20 years and is responsible for their logo, website, advertising, marketing and display materials, and newsletters. She and Vicki DeArmon worked together for eight years at Copperfield’s, renovating the company’s look and marketing. They transformed the idea of one-off single events into ongoing event series with a branded look for each — such as Dinners to Die For, Café Society, Lit Nights, Debut Dinners, and Thought Leader Sessions.
She is also the go-to web designer for the American Booksellers Alliance (ABA), IndieCommerce, and the California Independent Booksellers Association (CALIBA). She’s developed websites for more than 20 independent bookstores on the IndieCommerce platform. She also delivers the design for the annual statewide CALIBA ‘Everyone Gets a Book’ holiday catalog and campaign.
Early in her career, she spent 5+ years as the designer and production manager for the Sonoma County newspapers We the People and The North Bay Progressive, refreshing the looks of both publications. She was the graphic designer and art director for both Tumbleweed and Four Lights Tiny House Companies, designing both the books and workbooks used to teach tiny house building on national workshop tours in addition to developing the branding and websites for both companies. Since then, she has designed books and ebooks for Wellstone in the Redwoods, Fox Chapel Publishing, All Things Book, and countless self-publishers.
Over the years, Alicia and Vicki have teamed up to create exciting marketing programs expressed in Alicia’s compelling design for the Sonoma-Marin Fair, Neo Marketing Alliance, All Things Book, iHub Business incubator, Copperfield’s Books, the Sonoma County Speakers Series, Event Lab West, SHARE Sonoma County, SHARE California, the Northern California and Southern California Booksellers Associations, and now Sibylline Press. Her design portfolio which includes samples of these and more can be found at laladesign.com.
